ABOUT
My name is Kaitlin Porter Cortes. I am a professor, contemporary drawing artist, mother and baker based in Tucson, Arizona. I graduated from the University of Arizona with my Master of Arts in Francophone Studies and Literature in 2018 and my Doctorate in Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies with an emphasis in literacy and language acquisition and two minors, French and Cognitive Science.
As an artist, I believe that art should be tangible, accessible, and arouse introspection, contemplation and subjective interpretation. I do not believe in a right or wrong understanding of art, rather, with their unique and varied experiences, each viewer has an equally valid translation of the work; everything is open to interpretation.
